The Crop Circle Connector is a hugely successful website dedicated to sharing information about the crop circle phenomenon and has become a phenomena itself.
Since its humble beginnings in 1995 as a small home-made blog created in Microsoft Front Page, it has grown in size and popularity to become the definitive resource for information and reviews within the international crop circle community, with over 7547000 hits since its inception. Try typing ‘crop circles’ into Google and before you’ve finished you will see the Crop Circle Connector appearing at the top of the list.
One of the reasons for its popularity is the network of reviewers and researchers that it has grown, who can supply up to the minute news, photographs and video footage of the latest crop circles. Sometimes a new crop circle can be documented with aerial photographs and a ground report on the same day that it is created.
With over 2000 pages, the Corp Circle Connector is a rambling journey of a website, that has many navigational dead ends 
and stylistic clashes, but its success just goes to show how important content is in making a website popular.
Designer Mike Stuart has been working with the Crop Circle Connector since those early days, initially creating banner ads and titles using the only app available at the time; Deluxe Paint on the Commodore Amiga, but now currently reigning in the sprawling design with a more coherent navigational interface, and a cleaner brighter layout reflective of contemporary web design.
Next year we shall begin transferring the entire site to a Content Management System site to make updating quicker and easier for the owners. Look out for more rich content and innovative features on this thriving website.
