Rice and Things Exclusive Jamaican Restaurant already has a solid client base of loyal customers, but it wanted to gain wider exposure through its website and to promote their events and seasonal special offers.
Like most restaurants the owners are very busy, so the site needed to be simple and quick to update, therefore Wordpress was used as the CMS for their web site.
Rice and Things have a very strong brand so the website design reflected this, using colours and textures from our photos of the restaurant itself as the basis for the template design. We took a lot of photos of the restaurant to create illustrative elements for a design that reflected the friendly staff and the tasteful decor of the venue. The paper texture of the page area emulated a printed menu, further reinforcing the restaurant brand.
Above all, the site was designed to be highly functional, with photo galleries, article thumbnails, an events calendar and more. The design was planned to allow more pages and sections to be added without making the design crowded.
